Correspondence Reveal the late financier and former Trump strategist Connection

In late 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK to deliver a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by hundreds of protesters, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters slowed down my talk don't think I can catch the plane we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing assistant".

These messages were published on this week together with over 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The release by the House oversight committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is redacted. The BBC managed to establish his involvement by matching the timeline, events, and locations mentioned.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from the UK for the unnamed individual in the chat, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and gave the speech at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, declined to comment on the inquiry.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of Trump's closest aides in the run up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his first administration, but resigned from the administration in August 2017.

He has admitted he was making a documentary about Epstein before his passing and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he stated: "We plan to release the series, the five-part series, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A short time before the conversation in which Epstein seemed to arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid booking agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r quite capable asst", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you are well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Exchanges

The published communications also reveal Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in that year.

Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit thing this morning with Nigel, Boris and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the time, he continued: "They are attempting to proceed. may soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "I think remaining as much as you can uk. Best-- so people see the dedication of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa May remain in power". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely BUT the guys over here have little courage" and noted "Johnson ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - somebody has to take charge".

May was eventually toppled in May 2019 after withstanding multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party informed media: "Nigel Farage has not been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter took place.

The Congress will vote soon on whether the justice department should make public all its records concerning its probe into Epstein, who passed away in jail in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was reignited recently after the release of more than 20,000 pages from his estate.

A portion of those referenced the former president, who has repeatedly denied any impropriety. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for years, but says they fell out in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested.
